Yingli and Huanghe Hydropower enter 110 MW supply agreement

Under a new agreement, Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Limited will supply 110 megawatts (MW) worth of photovoltaic modules to Huanghe Hydropower Development Co., Ltd.

The China Power Investment Corporation subsidiary is expected to use the modules for two ground-mounted solar projects in China. According to Liansheng Miao, Yingli chairman and CEO, they are the largest photovoltaic projects under development in the country.

Under the agreement’s terms, Yingli will supply 30 MW worth of photovoltaic modules for a project located in Wulan, and 80 MW for a project in Golmud. Both areas can be found in China’s Qinghai province

Delivery is said to have commenced in June, with the final modules being shipped in August.

Liansheng Miao commented: "We are pleased to establish a business relationship with Huanghe Hydropower and supply our PV modules for the development of these PV power projects, which currently are the largest in China.

"This new business relationship represents our continued commitment to the China solar PV market, which has experienced rapid growth over the recent two years. These two projects will provide tens of thousands of people in Qinghai province with clean and safe power, as well as create green jobs and promote sustainable economic development of Qinghai province."
