Yingli Solar provides modules for 24 MW Puerto Rico project
03. December 2012 | Applications & Installations, Global PV markets, Industry & Suppliers | By: Max HallChinese manufacturer Yingli Solar has provided around 110,000 modules for the Ilumina 24 MW solar plant in Puerto Rico.

The project, which developer AES Solar says is the largest in the Caribbean, occupies 138 acres in the Guayama province of the island and is supplying photovoltaic power to 6,000 homes, after opening in October.
Philadelphia firm Global Energy Services USA performed the construction with the project creating 200 jobs. Meanwhile, Yingli Solar provided the YGE 60 Cell Series modules through its Yingli Green Energy Americas subsidiary.
The project will sell power to the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) under a 20-year PPA.
