ZNShine Solar to build 31 MW power plant in Japan

Share

Chinese PV module manufacturer ZNShine Solar will supply PV modules for a 31 MW solar power plant in the Japanese city of Hamada, located in Shimane Province fully owned by the ZNShine group.

Budgeted at JPY 10 billion ($93 million), the plant will first comprise 11 MW of installed modules in the first phase of construction. ZNShine will then install an additional 20 MW. The plant will receive a feed-in tariff of JPY 42 ($0.39) per kilowatt hour.

ZNShine will plan, build and finance the plant, which it expects to be the largest solar power plant in Hamada.

The project will include ZNShine 250 W polycrystalline modules. ZNShine subsidiary EPC Power Max, which focuses on engineering, procurement and construction services and supports the group’s downstream business in East Asia, will build the plant.

"The Japanese PV market has grown strongly in a very impressive way in recent years and still has enormous growth potential,” said ZNShine Solar CEO William Wang, who added that sales of ZNShine solar modules have rapidly increased since the company first established itself in the Japanese market and they have been fueled further by the company’s growing project pipeline in the country.

“We hope that this project and other projects that we will carry out in the future will interest investors, not only in East Asia but also from around the world,” Wang added.
