Louroux to install 25 MW PV plant in India
07. February 2011 | Applications & Installations, Industry & Suppliers | By: Becky StuartLouroux Bio Energies Ltd has said it will build a 25 megawatt (MW) PV power generation project in Gujarat, India, under the Gujarat State Solar Policy 2009.
According to Louroux, the project will be located near Rajkot in Gujarat. A memorandum of understanding for the acquisition of 200 acres of land has reportedly been signed: all formalities are expected to be finalized by the end of this month.
Construction, which will take around 12 months, is scheduled to begin in the first week of March. A team has already been appointed to carry out the work, and a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd has been forged.
"Our concern on environment and our commitment towards green energy is reflected in the new solar power project in Gujarat. We are extremely optimistic on this initiative and are looking for more such opportunities in green power," commented Ravi Agrawal, managing director of Louroux.
