The proposals made to the French government by Enerplan include the redesign of the solar PV support system and new tariffs for photovoltaic installations in buildings, also allowing for net metering. Enerplan also asked for a new tender to be launched before the end of 2013, aiming for 1000 MW installations per year.

The French general office for sustainable development (CGDD) published a recent report showing the nation installed only 207 MW of solar PV capacity during the first six months of 2013, a 73% decline from a year prior. This brings France to 4.26 GW of installed power from solar PV.
