China rising

The EU PVSEC is considered quite interesting for me, because there are a lot of Chinese companies, which are now working together hand in hand with the solar industry.

These companies used to be in the electrics and semi conductor industries and are now active in selling sun energy. I feel that China has grown in a big way in the last few years within the industry and people are taking it seriously finally.

But, the companies I talk to also say that they think there is not enough installations in the country itself. China has active installations, but not enough. There needs to be more active promotion and more active government help.

As someone from China, I see that companies want to work with the Chinese, but the problem is sometimes as simple as language. To break into the Chinese market is not easy, without the language and the cultural background.

My colleagues are mostly Chinese in the industry and they find it hard working with different cultures, because of things as simple as a handshake. I believe some attention must be put to cutting these boundaries before there can be more successful joint efforts.

I am also looking to working in Europe in the solar industry, but once again, having no German, Spanish or Italian, stops me. I feel that companies can and should do more to create a standardized operations form globally, to enable easy and fluid transfer of labor. Especially so now that China is becoming dominant in the solar sector.
