Installation of 580 MW Solar Ware Station for newly developed utility-scale solar PV plants in Vietnam

In December 2020, Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (hereinafter, “TMEIC”; President & CEO Masahiko Yamawaki) completed installation of its Solar Ware Station for newly developed utility-scale solar PV plants in Vietnam. The Solar Ware Station, a package solution offering a PV inverter, boosting transformer and switchgear delivered has a total capacity of 580MW.

The introduced capacity of PV plants reached 16.4GWp/13.2GWac*1 in Vietnam and is growing at a rapid pace following China, the United States and India. The Vietnamese government has set a target to introduce a cumulative capacity of 20GW by 2030 and introduced Feed In Tarif Phase-2 (FIT Phase 2) for newly developed PV plants commencing operation by December 31, 2020.

After the announcement of FIT Phase 2, TMEIC shipped its Solar Ware Station for newly developed PV plants for a total of six projects including one project in An Giang Province, two projects in Khanh Hoa Province and three projects in Binh Phuoc Province, whereby operation commenced at all plants by December 2020.

The Solar Ware Station, an AC station provided by TMEIC, is a package solution offering a PV inverter (1500Vdc, 2550kW), boosting transformer and switchgear stored in a 40-foot container. With its outstanding workability and environmental durability, TMEIC has delivered a cumulative total of 2GW including the current installations in the Vietnamese market as of the end of 2020.
