Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia on 10th September 2015 launched the website of their 3rd International Sustainable Energy Summit (ISES) 2016, which will be held from 5th to 6th April 2016 at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, Malaysia. Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili, Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA) in conjunction with the 6th IGEM 2015 which was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

ISES is a biennel event, it was first inaugurated in November 2012 as a knowledge-sharing and networking platform in fulfilment of the Strategic Thrust 5 of the National Renewable Energy Policy and Action Plan (NREPAP). The ISES demonstrates the Government’s commitment to exchange capacity in Sustainable Energy with the rest of the world.

The new website (www.ises.gov.my) also reveals a new and official logo for ISES, and Democraticising Electricity Supply as the theme for the 3rd ISES 2016.

The theme is a symbol of the maturity of an electricity supply system which provides choices to electricity consumers and respects that electricity access for all as a basic human right. The role of sustainable energy has taken to centre stage in recent years due to the advent mitigation of climate change and depletion of fossil fuel. SEDA will continue to emphasize on the importance of sustainable energy which comprises of both renewable energy and energy efficiency. In line with the theme, the 3rd ISES 2016 will explore the key policies and issues that require addressing in order to enable such democratization of electricity supply.

SEDA welcomes interested international and local parties to participate as participants, exhibitors and sponsors at the 3rd ISES 2016. Special rate for early registration applies. More info and online registration is available at www.ises.gov.my. SEDA hopes that with ISES being an international platform can roe fresh ideas and lessons learned from thought leaders in reducing the challenges in democratising electricity supply and at the same time addressing other issues in line with Malaysia’s quest in achieving energy autonomy.
