Altus Power begins providing solar power to 3 New Brunswick, New Jersey public schools

The three systems will total 760 kW, and were built by ProTech in collaboration with Johnson Controls, as part of a larger clean-energy initiative across the New Brunswick Public School system.

The three schools' solar systems are expected to produce a combined 950,000 kWh of electricity annually. The solar power produced will offset about 655 metric tons of carbon dioxide, which is the equivalent of burning 73,000 gallons of gasoline. The schools will purchase the electricity generated at a discount to their utility price.

New Brunswick Public Schools is one of many new additions to Altus Power's quickly growing solar portfolio. "It was a pleasure to work with Johnson Controls, ProTech, and New Brunswick Schools to complete the solar systems and bring clean energy to the school district," said Cela Sinay, Managing Director at Altus Power.
