Dr. Philip Comberg has joined Solarcenturys board as an independent director to help further position the company for international growth. Philip was previously Chairman and then Chief Executive Officer of Conergy AG leading its turnaround and sale to Kawa Solar Holding where he has since been a member of the board of directors. Prior to this he served on the board of Chinese solar company Solarfun Power Holdings (now Hanwha SolarOne).

Philip started his career as an M&A lawyer at Clifford Chance and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Hong Kong and Düsseldorf. He then joined Deutsche Bank as an investment banker working in Frankfurt before becoming a founding partner of Alcosa Capital focusing on special situation investments in Germany. Philip studied law and Chinese in Heidelberg and Guangzhou (Peoples Republic of China), subsequently completing a Masters degree in New York and his doctorate in Düsseldorf.
