Eilat-Eilot Green Energy Conference to outline strategies for continued sustainable energy growth

The Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Initiative, the leading body in the field of renewable energy development in Israel, today announced the agenda for its

6th International Eilat-Eilot Green Energy Conference and Exhibition taking place on December 7-9 in Eilat, Israel.

The Eilat-Eilot Green Energy Conference will begin with an opening address from Silvan Shalom, Minister of Energy and Water Resources in Israel, and a keynote address from Peter Littlewood, Director of Argonne National Laboratory in the United States, in the opening plenary session on Towards Sustainable Energy – The Next Stage.

The conference agenda will include plenary sessions and panel discussions on a wide ranging of renewable energy topics, including:

  • Long Term Energy Goals – Alternatives to Natural Gas
  • Unique Models for Financing the Renewable Energy Revolution
  • Biofules – World Trends and Challenges
  • Off-Grid Solutions for Developing Countries
  • Internet of Things Advancing Energy Efficiency
  • Renewable Energy as a Solution for Energy Security

The conference will include the inauguration of the EE Off Grid Hub, a new technology hub focusing on the development of products and technologies that will provide energy, water and agriculture needs to populations in developing countries not connected to national water and energy grids. The EE Off Grid Hub will be located on Kibbutz Ketura in southern Israel and will be jointly managed by the Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Initiative and the Arava Institute. The conference will include a session dedicated to outlining the activities of the EE Off Grid Hub.

The conference will also include discussions on the bidding process and project details for the new Timna Solar Park in southern Israel. The Timna Solar Park is expected to produce 60 megawatts of solar power and will be based on PV tracking systems.

A preconference event called EnergyVest will be held for global investors to interact with Israel’s most promising new renewable energy technology companies. EnergyVest will showcase the country’s new alternative and sustainable energy technology companies looking for strategic investments and partnerships. Many of the company’s presenting at EnergyVest will also be exhibiting at the conference’s exhibition.

The conference agenda will also incorporate options for onsite tours of a number of innovative renewable energy projects managed by the Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Initiative, including the EE Off Grid Hub on Kibbutz Ketura, the Arava Power Solar Farm also on Kibbutz Ketura, the Passive Cooling Tower at Kibbutz Neot Smadar and the site of the future Timna Solar Park.
