Enable Energy, a technology, product development and business strategy consulting firm focused on accelerating the deployment of leading-edge solar technology, announces the availability of Avanza, a versatile pitched-roof solar racking system.

Avanza is the second product launched during the past month by Enable Energy for license to solar module and racking manufacturers. The first product, Solanté, is a flexible and robust system for commercial solar module installations.

The Avanza launch coincides with the Intersolar North America 2014 conference, July 8-10, in San Francisco. Principals Eric Hafter and Todd Lindstrom will be attending the conference to demonstrate Avanza and Solanté.

Avanza was designed with features to serve both the solar manufacturer and installer. Chief Technologist Jack Patton, with four decades of design engineering experience and numerous patents filed, developed the racking system and continues to refine one of the industry’s most versatile products with the Enable team.

"Avanza reflects our intent to embed as much technology as possible into a simple solution," said Patton. "There are no rails. The product is compatible with a majority of the modules on the market. Avanza serves both module and roof attachment functions with a single self-grounding assembly and integrated flashing. The reduction in materials simplifies the manufacturing process and drives down both component and installation costs."

Enable's pitched-roof technology has been further refined with improvements focused on the installer. “Avanza comes preassembled and requires only two tools to attach to the rooftop reducing installation time and errors," said Todd Lindstrom, Enable Energy founder. “And, the assembly has a unique adjustment feature increasing the range of tolerance in positioning on the roof, reducing installation time and cost, and expanding the pool of installers qualified to work with the product. The design allows installation to occur from the bottom of the roof up or the top down, reducing fatigue and improving ergonomics, making each job safer for the system installers."

Avanza's minimalist design results in an attractive finished installation. Unlike older technologies that attach to the top or the exterior of the module, Avanza’s clamp system secures under the solar module. The rail-free design and finishing features, including fascia trim, enhance the aesthetics of each rooftop system.
