Envision Solar International, Inc. today announced that the company has broken ground in San Leandro, California beginning the deployment of its iconic Solar Tree structure with EnvisionTrak, Envision's proprietary solar tracking solution.
The Solar Tree array is being placed at the entrance to the new IBEW-NECA Local 595 training center, a 46,000 square foot, zero net energy facility, located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. The training center will be home to over 2000 IBEW apprentice and journey level electricians along with NECA contractors that cover Alameda County and beyond.
Byron Benton, Training Director of the IBEW-NECA Electrical Training Center stated, "We selected the Envision Solar Tree array which is designed and built in the US to demonstrate our commitment to the US's economic, employment, environmental, and energy future. This is a high quality American product and our trainees and visitors will benefit by passing it every day as they come and go from the facility. The Solar Tree array creates a striking differentiator for this fantastic new facility and we are delighted to have started on its installation."
Envision Solar's President and CEO, Desmond Wheatley, said, "This IBEW-NECA facility is a state of the art, modern training center. The Solar Tree array is an ideal addition because it is the best of the best and we are thrilled that IBEW-NECA is joining the ranks of our customers who view our products in that way. This groundbreaking marks the beginning of what will be one of our most efficient deployments to date. We are using our brand-new pre-cast columns and our highly efficient purlin modules for the first time. This modularized approach allows us to give our customers the highest quality products in the industry with the least disruption in the field. Great news for our customers and shareholders alike."
