Spanish-Japanese developer Europe Clean Energies (ECE) has completed its first PV project with a 2 MW scheme in the city of Tsukuba Mirai, in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.

The ground mount was granted a FIT of ¥42/kWh ($0.39/kWh) and developed by ECE.

The project uses two ABB 1 MW stations and 7,950 Canadian Solar modules, of 255 W each, having been sold to a private investor on a turnkey basis.

In the short term, ECE expects to begin construction of another two PV parks, of 2.2 MW each, in Ibaraki Prefecture that should be operational before the end of the year.
