Kokubu 1 MW is located in Kagoshima and is planned for construction in Q3 2015 following final issuance of the agricultural conversion certificate.

Shimonoseki 1 MW is located in Yamaguchi, and is being prepared for construction in Q2 2015.

Kimitsu 1 MW, located in Chiba, is under construction to complete in March 2015.

With approval by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, these projects will sell power to Kyushu Power, Chugoku Power, and Tohoku Power through a 20-year power purchase agreement at a fixed tariff rate. With Japan looking to diversify its power generation mix, it has set a goal of producing about 20 percent of its power from renewable sources by 2030.

"Our primary focus is on partnering with local developers and landowners to fund and develop projects from 10-50 MW in size."

Greenpower Capital’s CEO, Dick Talbert, stated “Our primary focus is on partnering with local developers and landowners to fund and develop projects from 10-50 MW in size, but we also facilitate funding and acquisition of smaller projects quite regularly. We can normally get these projects acquired in 1-2 months from the time we get engaged. Developers have been very happy with the high prices and fast execution that we are able to offer."

Greenpower Capital has 14 projects totaling over 200 MW that will be completed or planned to start construction in 2015, with an overall goal of 300MW constructed under the Japan FiT program.
