SolarWorld: Lithium-ion battery – a safe bet!

At the Intersolar Europe trade fair, SolarWorld will offer for the first time a SolarWorld battery system with lithium-iron phosphate battery in addition to its lead-acid storage systems. The new SunPac LiOn will be available from the third quarter of 2014 with a storage capacity of 5 and 10 kWh. The AC-coupled system is also suited for retrofitting existing systems. The smaller SunPac LiOn 5 can supply an average four-person household from sunset to sunrise with charged solar power. And if that is not enough, the storage capacity can be modularly expanded at any time. The specification of 5,000 charge cycles approximately equals a service life of up to 20 years. The battery system fulfills all applicable safety standards and certificates, and meets the test criteria of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

Combined with the new Suntrol eManager, the SolarWorld system for optimizing the increase in self-consumption, the battery can achieve a level of self-sufficiency in a private home of up to 90 percent. With the Suntrol eManager, electrical loads and heat pumps can be incorporated into the energy management. This allows maximal use of self-produced solar energy as well as the combination of energy and heat production.

SolarWorld controls consumer appliances via the control platform Suntrol HoMy, an app for the visualization and remote control of all electrical consumers attached to the eManager. Using dynamic yield forecasts and average consumption profiles of each household, the app recommends when which consumer should be switched on in order to use the maximum amount of solar power. This makes it even easier and more convenient to use homemade solar power. The result: increased independence, lower costs for the users, lower loads on the grids and lower costs for the public.

Sunfix aero 2.0 – The low-ballast flat roof system

The new Sunfix aero 2.0 is light, aerodynamically optimized and even easier to assemble compared to the previous model. Consisting of only 5 main components made of high-quality aluminum and stainless steel, the system is easy and efficient to install –without penetrating the roof membrane. With a system weight of under 4 kg/m² (without modules), the low-ballast system was designed especially for flat roofs with low load bearing reserves, such as commercial roofs. The system will be available from the third quarter of 2014 in the variants south and east-west orientation. It will replace the existing flat roof systems Sunfix aero, Sunfix aero duo and Suntub.

Sunmodule XL: XL performance for XL areas

The new Sunmodule XL from SolarWorld is perfectly suited for ground-mounted systems. With a module output of up to 315 watts, the XL package saves money. Because compared to the classical 60 cell module, the 72 monocrystalline cells of the XL generate significantly more power, lowering the system costs by up to 15 percent. The modules made in Germany are also reliable and versatile under extreme weather conditions: in the desert, on the coast or in areas with high wind and snow loads. And our usual linear performance guarantee over 25 years and the 10-year product guarantee also apply to the Sunmodule XL.

SolarWorld Kit easy: Simplicity brings added value

That is the new "SolarWorld Kit easy" standard kit – fast, convenient, cost-effective. The complete set consists of SolarWorld Sunmodule Plus or Sunmodule Protect modules, the Sunfix plus mounting frame, an optional inverter, cables and plugs, which are all packed directly on one EUR-pallet. Packages come in four sizes with 12, 16, 20 or 24 modules, depending on requirements. Combined with the current SW 250 poly modules, they have an installed system capacity of 3, 4, 5 or 6 kWp. For the first time beginning May 2014, the system is available with the black Sunmodule mono black as well. The space-saving packaging on a EUR-pallet optimizes and simplifies storage for customers. Thanks to substantial retail stocks, delivery times are significantly shorter, and compact packaging minimizes the risk of shipping damage.
