Leidos Engineering grows renewable energy team with solar experts

Engineers Todd Tolliver, Mark Reusser, and Rounak Kharait have joined the Denver, Colorado, office. Thomas Hickman will be based in Virginia, and Luis Matheus will be in Florida. Additionally, Heidi Larson has been promoted to manager of photovoltaic (PV) solar energy to direct the recent surge in solar projects for the company.

The five solar experts will work on renewable energy projects also supported by additional analysts and engineers in the company’s asset transaction division. Prior to joining Leidos Engineering:

  • Tolliver was the manufacturing engineering manager at PrimeStar Solar of GE Power & Water. He has bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in electrical engineering from University of Massachusetts.
  • Matheus was a senior project manager at Aries Power & Industrial and has an MBA in entrepreneurship and sustainability from the University of Colorado as well as a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela.
  • Reusser was a systems engineer at Juwi Solar, Inc. and has two Master of Science degrees in bioengineering and mechanical engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, all from the University of Colorado.
  • Hickman, a licensed professional engineer, earned a master’s degree in computer science from Santa Clara University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Cincinnati. Prior to joining Leidos Engineering, he was a master engineer at Orbital Sciences. Tom has expertise in all aspects of PV solar and is also proficient in battery storage technologies and systems.
  • Kharait was a senior proposal engineering with Thermax Limited India, and has been will pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, which he will finish in May 2015, from the Colorado School of Mines. He also holds a master’s degree in renewable energy engineering from Kingston University in London and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Pune University in India.

Larson has been part of the renewable energy group at Leidos for four years, with a focus on leading PV projects and technology reviews. A licensed professional engineer, she has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wyoming, and an MBA from the University of Denver.

The existing team includes solar experts with decades of experience, and bachelor, master, PhD degrees in engineering, physics, computer science and business. Leidos Engineering has advised clients on approximately eight gigawatts of solar assets in North America, and abroad.
