Minimise Group launches renewable energy subsidiary

The new company, Minimise Generation, will optimise the energy generation potential of organisations across the UK and is a natural fit for the newly announced Minimise Group, which is already developing and delivering energy efficiency programmes for high profile clients such as Morrisons, Network Rail and Royal Mail through its energy efficiency, funding and consultancy group companies.

Minimise Generation will work with organisations to identify opportunities to generate and store energy on site, driving operational savings by reducing outsourced energy costs. At the same time this will reduce client carbon emissions and help meet carbon reduction targets.

The company is technology neutral, offering a wide portfolio of renewable energy technologies including ground and roof mounted solar panels, heat pumps, biomass and CHP. As with all Minimise Group companies, the focus is on delivering the best solution for the specific environment to drive both financial and environmental improvement for the customer.

Minimise Generation’s service spans consultancy, design, supply and installation. Where it really differs from other renewable energy companies is in its ability to offer the smart integration of multiple energy generation technologies.

Head of Minimise Generation, Anthony Morgan, explained: “Many renewable energy companies are good, or excellent, at one aspect of energy generation. However, results are frequently compromised because they cannot work across a range of generation disciplines. Technologies clash, results are disappointing and opportunities are certainly missed.

“Prior to launch, we developed a range of energy generation systems that we know are compatible. They can work singularly or as a package, ensuring that all energy generation opportunities are maximised either at the outset, or when added as a phased development programme.”

This multiple energy and income stream approach, combined with a focus on innovation, can significantly increase the amount of energy produced on site, de-risking supply and improving overall return on investment. Integrating this approach with some innovative financial packages can provide immediate customer benefit without any upfront cost.

“Our hybrid solar solution combines PV-T and heat pumps, which together give an excellent carbon reduction,” said Anthony Morgan. “This can be extended, in new buildings, to include bore holes in the ground to store energy, which provide ongoing inter-seasonal storage of thermal energy. That’s just one example of an integrated Minimise Generation package,” he said.

Minimise Generation is the latest company added to the Minimise Group, and will work closely with other Group companies to deliver comprehensive and integrated building sustainability models. The Group provides a complete range of integrated and complementary commercial sustainability services and technologies, spanning the areas of high level strategy development, project financing, energy efficiency, energy generation and water management.

Commenting on the launch of Minimise Generation, Andrew Shortis, Managing Director of Minimise Group, said: “Sustainability companies have traditionally focused on a single area of operation. Minimise Generation focuses instead on selecting the correct generation and storage model for an organisation. Once building managers recognise the efficiencies achievable through an integrated system we anticipate a sharp increase in this approach.
