New PV roofing system set to make solar integration mainstream

Innovative new roofing kits combine with the company’s cost effective Clearline PV16 solar module to create a roof integrated solar system that offers the highest quality at a cost comparable with above-roof installations.

“During September we’ve previewed Fusion to experts from solar installation businesses and the reaction has been absolutely superb,” said Stuart Elmes, CEO of Viridian Solar. “People really liked the way the system automatically sets consistent panel spacing and that it achieves exceptional wind resistance and fire rating without the need to add materials into the roof. Installers new to the system were achieving install times as low as 30 minutes per kilowatt-peak.”

The system includes patent-pending design features that means panels can be simply pushed together to create a weather-tight and secure fixing and with an industry leading gap between rows of only 5mm. All testing for MCS012 has been completed and the measured wind resistance was the highest possible with the test equipment at the laboratory.

“As solar makes the transition from being a subsidy-driven investment opportunity to being seen more as a home improvement, we believe that products that maintain the kerb-appeal of the property are going to become more and more important. Roof integration is no longer just for new homes, it’s ready for the mass market.”
