Tier 1 manufacturer Vikram Solar has successfully completed the OST factory and product audit, and is now considered by investors and banks alike as a confirmed partner for PV projects in the UK. UK's leading, independent renewables auditor OST Energy attested the highest efficiency at nominal operating cell temperature (NOCT) among manufacturers audited by OST Energy.
OST Energy reviewed Vikram Solars production facilities in India and its quality management systems as part of their extensive factory and product audit often required by banks such as the Macquarie Bank in the UK to release project funds. Primary assessments during their audit include the quality of the product and its components, the module performance, the manufacturing process, the companys overall acceptance in the market place, historical degradation values, product warranties and environmental, health and safety measures. Based on the quality documentation sighted and certifications in place, OST considered Vikram Solars quality management system to be comprehensive and diligently implemented.
Furthermore, performance evaluation tests were carried out on random sample modules in their IPSOL Energy PV laboratory to prove the products long durability. Within this framework salt-mist and ammonia resistance were verified as well as static loads of up to 5400Pa.
