Secure power supply with the PIKO BA Backup Unit from KOSTAL

The PIKO BA Backup Unit provides a major gain in comfort, as the lights stay on or you can watch your favourite film to the end in your own home despite a power failure. As soon as the PIKO BA inverter detects a power failure, it sends a signal to the VDE-tested PIKO BA Backup Unit, which disconnects the building grid from the public power grid after only a few seconds, so that it can be supplied autarkically.

The complete internal power grid can in this way still be supplied in a phase-compatible manner according to needs, and this for up to 10 hours at 500 watt/h without a public power supply with a fully charged battery and depending upon the consumers switched on.

If a switch is made to backup operation, this is displayed both via the system monitoring integrated into the inverter and by way of a separate contact in the PIKO BA Backup Unit. This means that the mode of the storage system is visible. When current can once again be acquired via the public grid, the switch from the building grid to the public grid takes place immediately and automatically.

In addition to this, the integration of the PIKO BA Backup Unit into the building grid is very easy. This means that only a small extension of the electrical installation in the building is necessary for the set-up.

Thanks to its compact dimensions and minimal installation work, the Backup Unit can also be installed easily, and this both in the case of a new installation or in the form of a retrofit of already existing PIKO BA systems.
