The easy-to-integrate SMA COM Gateway allows integration of current and future PV system monitoring and control solutions, including commercial energy management, the option for direct marketing of PV power and, in the future, integration into the SMA Smart Home via Sunny Home Manager.
With the SMA COM Gateway, PV system operators will benefit from the powerful features of the new SMA communication landscape and also safeguard the investment in their PV system, explained Dirk Schlote, Product Manager at SMA. Operators can expand or modernize existing PV systems with RS485 communication and combine them with current and new communication solutions that include advanced services. In addition to the state-of-the-art PV system monitoring and control solutions the SMA COM Gateway offers in combination with the SMA Cluster Controller and, in the future, also with the Sunny Home Manager, other benefits include options for direct marketing of PV power.
Easy communication upgrade?The SMA COM Gateway supports up to 50 RS485 devices and is installed directly on the wall or on a top-hat rail. When a system is being upgraded or a data logger replaced, it enables the use of the SMA Cluster Controller and, in the future, also the Sunny Home Manager, the control center of the SMA Smart Home.
