SMA’s Sunny Portal has reached a milestone achievement of 100 terawatt hours (TWh) of solar energy monitoring on Earth Day. This achievement, which affirms Sunny Portal’s status as a leading Web-based PV monitoring platform, is the equivalent of avoiding more than 70 million tons of carbon dioxide from entering Earth’s atmosphere.

“Reaching 100 TWh of energy in Sunny Portal is a fitting reminder of the important role solar power plays in ensuring our planet’s health on Earth Day,” said Henry Dziuba, president and general manager of SMA America and president of SMA Canada. “We’re proud to help deliver clean, solar energy to homes and businesses as consumers turn to renewable energy to power their lives.”

Sunny Portal provides free system monitoring for photovoltaic plants throughout the world and currently supports more than 150,000 systems. It allows system owners to access PV system data anytime and anywhere via the Internet or Sunny Portal application for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android phones.

Automatic product updates ensure that the device firmware is always up to date, while any operation irregularities or interferences are quickly detected, and an email notification is sent through the Sunny Portal.
