In addition, current order books comprise more than 15 megawatts for the next couple of months. “Our customers in Turkey value longevity and efficiency, and that’s exactly what SolarWorld modules made in Germany and made in the U.S. stand for,” says Dr. Ing. E. h. Frank Asbeck, CEO of SolarWorld AG.

NEW ENERGIES FOR OLD ENERGY

OPET Petrolculuk A.S. (OPET), one of the largest oil companies of Turkey, shows how to combine old and new energies. In the future, monocrystalline solar modules of SolarWorld will supply the main building of the company in Mersin with environmentally friendly solar power.

The Turkish natural gas supplier Bursagaz/Botas also relies on solar. On the roof of a new company building in Bursa, a solar power system produces around 60,000 kilowatt hours of clean electricity per year for direct consumption. Again, monocrystalline high-performance modules were used, this time combined with SolarWorld’s mounting system for flat roofs, Sunfix plus. SolarWorld partner Sunvital realized the project.

SUSTAINABLE STUDYING

In September 2015, the solar system of the University of Sabanci – one of the most prestigious universities for engineering and natural sciences in the country – connected to the grid. With a system of 110 kilowatts, it provides enough energy to teach students enrolled there. SolarWorld’s low-ballast flat-roof system Sunfix aero was installed by Enisolar, a SolarWorld partner company in Izmir.

DOUBLE GREEN

A wide range of solar applications includes a plant on the site of the old Presidential Palace: On a new greenhouse of the palace kitchen, glass-glass modules from SolarWorld produce green electricity to help cultivate home-grown fruits and vegetables. Essential reasons for choosing the quality module Sunmodule Protect were its longevity, special weather resistance and high light transmission.
