Sri Lanka: The new renewable energy hotspot

Share

A Department Heads meeting was held last week regarding Government, Ministerial and key visitors attending Energy Sri Lanka. Unfortunately due to the recent change of Government and the “100 day programme of reform” the new President has implemented, it has been brought to our attention that we are now no longer able to have those key visitors attend.

With our focus to bring the best program possible, we have decided to reschedule Energy Sri Lanka until later this year depending on the availability of the beautiful BMICH centre. This was a difficult decision, but as a premium exhibition specialist we have decided this is the best outcome for all parties involved.

Now as the 100 day programme nears its end, the new Government has outlined an ambitious green energy policy!

At a United Nation Forum held in Colombo last week, Suren Batagoda, secretary, Ministry of Power and Energy announced that Sri Lanka’s new government is to target 100 percent clean indigenous energy to develop the island as a green country. The long-term plan is to completely stop importing fossil fuel.

This announcement comes at a time when there is a global trend towards massive deployment of solar power and other renewables, with investments worth billions of dollars in clean technology and green energy.

Exhibiting at Energy Sri Lanka will connect you with valuable business-to-business contacts, key buyers and industry professionals. As well as having the added benefit of a conference/seminar programme.

Energy Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka’s ONLY Renewable Energy Exhibition & Conference.
