In celebration of Earth Day, DJK Custom Homes together with Independence Renewable Energy and Suniva, will be opening the doors to the newly built Eco-Smart home. The Eco-Smart line of highly efficient custom homes, designed and built by DJK Custom Homes, are the City of Naperville's first residential homes to be built to meet LEED Platinum level certification.

“We selected Suniva’s attractive black frame Optimus solar panel for this home due to its high power output and sleek design,” said Dan Kittilsen, president of DJK Custom Homes. “The popular concept of building efficient homes, such as our Eco-Smart line, has sparked incredible interest throughout the country. Last year’s debut of a net-zero, LEED platinum home, also Powered by Suniva®, attracted thousands of attendees.”

“Suniva’s residential customers find the black frame Optimus panels to be ideal for their homes due to the high power yield. Space is at a premium on rooftops, and our technology is ideal for maximizing power generation and lowering install costs in limited spaces,” said Matt Card, executive vice president of commercial operations.

DJK Custom Homes is opening the Eco-Smart home to the public to help educate the value in highly efficient homes. More information about the April 22nd Earth Day event, including the address, can be found here.
