The Strata Group launch the first stage of their Eco Initiative, with solar powered signage

The solar powered totem sign was fitted in the Formula One Autocentre, situated in the town of Kettering, Northamptonshire. The use of a solar paneled sign within the kettering site was suggested by Sovereign Signs, as the conditions of the location made it a well suited opportunity to begin the first stage of a wider and ongoing eco initiative.

The technology used was Ecolux Solar, a LED trough-lighting system, powered entirely by solar panels. This was fitted into the totem sign by Sovereign Signs, who chose the system for its uncomplicated and reliable fitting procedure. The use of Ecolux solar panels allows the totem sign to run all year round with little maintenance, reducing running cost.

Iain Mckenzie, Director of Sovereign Signs said “After a number of years research and testing of solar powered technology, it is now proven to be applicable to our industry on both small and larger scale projects. As a brand, we only ever enter new markets using quality proven materials, products and methodology. The work with Formula One Autocentres fits with the overall environmental endeavours of The Strata Group as well as those of our wider client base.”

The work being produced by Sovereign Signs is part of a major technological progression planned for both the brand and The Strata Group as a whole.
