In March, a free-standing photovoltaic installation with a peak performance of 5.08 Megawatts was opened by the Ukrainian firm Eco-Optima, a specialist in planning and running renewable energy sources. The Fronius Eco inverters installed in the system impressed not only with their ease of installation and compact design, but also with their reliability.

The free-standing installation is located in Sambir in the Lviv province. The projected annual yield of the solar station is some 5,330 Megawatt hours, saving 2,823 tonnes of CO2. To achieve these figures, Eco-Optima is trusting in solar technology from Fronius Solar Energy and has installed a total of 162 Fronius Eco inverters in Sambir. Thanks to its low weight of less than 40 kilograms and its SnapINverter mounting system, the transformerless unit could be installed quickly and easily in an outdoor environment. Parts can also be replaced quickly on location.
