Located on the roofs of the logistics center of Interporto Padova S.p.A. in the northern Italian city of Padua, the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year, and will have a total output of around 12.5 MWp.

Solon S.p.A., a subsidiary of Berlin-based Solon SE in Germany is the lead manager for the project's planning and implementation. The company said that several Italian investors are involved in the project, while an Italian banking syndicate is reportedly handling the financing.

It is hoped the complete plant will supply around 17 million kWh of electricity from solar energy per year and will thus provide electricity to approximately 5,000 households. The amount of CO2 entering the atmosphere will be reduced by 9,000 tons, explained Solon S.p.A.
