China: GCL-Poly and CGN to work on one GW solar project

Share

The solar farm is set to be located in Datong City, in China's Shanxi Province. GCL-Poly has said it will be responsible for both the project’s development and construction. Datong City has been chosen to host the next International Solar Decathlon, in 2013.

"The purpose of this strategic cooperation between GCL-Poly and CGN is to kick-start solar farm investments systematically in Shanxi Province where the area has abundant solar resources," said GCL in a statement released.

Despite requests from pv magazine, the company declined to release any further information at this time.

It did say though that under China’s upcoming "Twelfth five-year plan", it is predicted that the target for installed solar capacity will be upped, from 10 GW to 15 GW.
