The factory, located in Bozepole Wielkie, northern Poland, currently has an annual capacity of 35 megawatts (MW), or 130,000 modules. According to a statement released by the company, this will be ramped up to 70 MW this year. It failed to provide any specific dates, however.

The investment in the new facility, opened in late 2011, amounted to around PLN 32.36 million (€7.56 million). A grant worth PLN 16.5 million (€3.85 million) was received from the European Union’s Regional Development Fund. The photovoltaic turnkey line was delivered by Switzerland’s MAG, for an estimated contract value of €3 million.

While Solar-Energy produces 240 Watt peak photovoltaic modules, it says that in the future, it plans to add modules with an increased power output to its product range.

The company collaborates with a number of local research institutes and universities, including the Krakow-based branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Gdansk Technical University.
