China: When a national feed-in tariff (FIT) was announced in July 2011, some believed a lack of detail and transparency could undermine the program’s effectiveness. The turnaround has been remarkable. At the end of 2010, China’s installed photovoltaic (PV) capacity was less than one gigawatt (GW).
