TÜV Rheinland opens photovoltaic test laboratory in Korea

Share

The new laboratory was established in cooperation with the Yeungnam University. The laboratory is apparently the first one in Korea that is independently operated according to the internationally recognised standards IEC 61215 and IEC 61730. It features indoor and outdoor test facilities on 1,100 square metres, with solar simulators and climate chambers, an UV preconditioning chamber, mechanical load test stations, a hail tester, a wet leakage test for simulating rain conditions, an impulse tester, and a light-soaker for thin-film technology.

The Korean Government's promotion program for Green Energy Industry has greatly supported the establishment. The new photovoltaic laboratory at Gyeongsan was developed with the technical support of experts from the TÜV Rheinland network. All testing is conducted by local engineers from TÜV Rheinland.
