Helios to install 30 MW PV plant in Nigeria

According to a statement released on the Kaduna State website, Helios will invest €50 million in the plant, which will be built under a 25 year Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) scheme. The MOU was signed as part of the Nigerian-German Energy partnership.

The state government has said it will make 60 hectares of land available to Helios, which will visit Nigeria this October to identify the site. It added that Helios will train Kaduna natives in Germany to operate the facility.

"Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, who supervised the signing in Abuja, noted that the expected addition of 30 megawatts into the state will boost socio-economic activities, while strengthening his administration’s tripartite focus on Security, Unity and Development," read the statement.

It is hoped further foreign investment will be attracted to Kaduna on the back of the new MOU.
