Canadian Solar says it has invested in and partnered with Strata Solar to complete 15 utility-scale photovoltaic plants in North Carolina.

The first, worth 6.4 MW DC, is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of this month. Work on the Fuquay Farm, located in Wake County, stated last November. It is expected to generate enough energy for 750 households when complete.

Overall, the majority of the project will comprise the installation of six MW photovoltaic plants, although it also includes a one MW rooftop plant, and a three MW plant. While construction will be spread across the year, all plants are expected to be online by the end of 2013.

No further project details were divulged.
