The park, constructed by Ch. Karnchang Group and Assyce Fotovoltaica, is located in Chiang Rai’s Mae Chan district. It is comprised of 41,000 REC photovoltaic modules and 16 ABB inverters. The generated power is expected to meet the needs of around 72,000 households.

The investment amount was not disclosed. However, long term bank debt was said to be provided by Krung Thai Bank on a non-recourse project finance basis.

Sonnedix is also said to be donating and installing photovoltaic plants at local schools. Overall, the company added, it has reached over 100 MW projects in Italy, France, Spain and the U.S. It also has a pipeline worth "several hundred megawatts."

"We intend to pursue our growth in Thailand and Asia as one of its leading independent solar power producers. As Solar PV Power in Thailand keeps growing, considering the local community’s requirements is a key element to successful integration," commented Sonnedix’s Chairman, Franck Constant.
