Set to be located at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (DMAFB), south east of Tucson, the plant will comprise 57,000 of MEMC’s Silvantis photovoltaic modules when complete, scheduled for Q4 2013.

The generated power, which is expected to cover around 50% of DMAFB’s electrical needs in its first year of operation, will be sold to DMAFB under a 25 year PPA.

"This project will add to the 784 megawatts of installed renewable energy capacity that the Bank has helped develop and finance in the U.S.-Mexico border region,"commented NADB Managing Director, Geronimo Gutierrez.
