Heraeus ramps up Singapore paste production


German precious metals and technology group Heraeus is ramping up production of silver paste at its Singapore facility to meet rising orders in the Asian market,and reduce costs, according to a report on the PR Newswire today.

The news agency report quotes Andreas Liebheit, senior vice president managing Heraeus' Photovoltaics Business unit, as describing the Singapore operation as providing "a perfect environment for continuous improvements in lean management throughout the entire supply chain and manufacturing process."

The Singapore production line of Hanau-based Heraeus produces silver metallization pastes for use in PV.

The report by U.S.-based PR Newswire says production will continue at Heraeus' factory in West Conshocken, Pennsylvania and that the group's base in Hanau, Germany, will concentrate on technical service and operations.
