Canadian Solar has racked up a number of Ontario project sales to RET Capital to kick off 2015, the latest being the CityLights solar plant. The 10 MW AC solar array supplies electricity to Hydro One under a 20-year PPA. Canadian Solar will continue to provide O&M services under the deal.

"We are pleased to close our third solar power plant sale to RET Capital,” said Canadian Solar CEO Shawn Qu. “Not only does this sale highlight the successful collaboration between Canadian Solar and RET, it also underscores our success in creating sustainable jobs and furthering the use of renewable energy from the sun in Ontario."

Before the sale to RET Capital, CityLights was owned by Canadian Solar Solutions, a fully-owned subsidiary of the solar manufacturer and developer. The plant uses Canadian Solar CSX-P-300|305P modules.

“By purchasing CityLights, we now have a portfolio of more than 40 MW DC of solar assets in Ontario," said John A. Bohn, CEO and Chairman of RET Capital. "We look forward to continuing our close working relationship with Canadian Solar in the future as we expand our North American solar network."
