Low tariffs but a hot market

India update: Interest in the National Solar Mission has never been greater, but this hot market is pushing solar tariffs to record – and some believe, unviable – lows, writes Raj Prabhu of Mercom Capital. Across the country, most states are pressing ahead with tenders and new policies that are slowly transforming India’s energy landscape.

There has been increased activity in the Indian solar sector over the past quarter, with tenders and auctions beginning to occur more frequently along with some important policy announcements.
