Although the U.K. large-scale solar industry has been grinding to a recent halt, there are still various PV projects across the country which are due to be completed and connected to the grid. GOLDBECK Solar’s 49.6 MWp plant in Melksham is the most recent large-scale plant to be completed and connected to the grid.

It is the largest PV plant ever constructed by GOLDBECK Solar, a subsidiary of GOLDBECK GmbH, who fully financed the project and oversaw its construction. The ground-mounted Sandridge Solar Park took 4 months to construct and was connected to the grid on its original schedule at the end of March. It brings together some of the most popular technology in the industry, utilizing Schneider inverter stations and S-Energy and Canadian Solar modules.

The GOLDBECK Group has had a presence in the U.K. solar market as far back as 2011, when it completed its first PV plant in the country. GOLDBECK Solar has now installed over 300 MW of PV capacity within the U.K.
