Array Technologies completes shipping of trackers to 191 MW solar project in California

Single-axis trackers are taking the U.S. utility-scale solar market by storm, including not only projects in California and the Southwest but increasingly those in developing markets such as the Midwest.

Even among this trend, Array Technologies’ supply of trackers to the Springbok 1 and 2 solar projects in Southern California represented particularly large orders. Today the company reported that it has completed shipments of its DuraTrack HZ v3 trackers to the Springbok 2 solar farm, to host 191 MW-DC of solar generation.

8minutenergy Renewables is the developer of the Springbok 2, which construction contractor Swinerton Renewable Energy expects to complete by the end of this year.

ATI’s supply of trackers to this project follows on supply to the 137 MW-DC Springbok 1 project. Even with these deals, Array Technologies slipped from the largest to the second-largest solar tracker supplier in the rapidly growing North American market in 2015, according to a recent analysis by IHS.
