Sometimes the best way to learn about what is going on in solar is to sit down with the experts. Today pv magazine LIVE, our new video offering, brings you three new interviews from the SPI 2016 trade show with some of the people who know the U.S. solar market better than anyone.

First is our interview with GTM Research Associate Director of U.S. Solar Corey Honeyman, who gives an overview of the U.S. solar market in the second half of 2016 and 2017. Honeyman provides insights into the bumpy ride of utility-scale solar and also discusses why it is so difficult to forecast this market.

Second, we talk with Vikram Aggarwal, the CEO of online solar marketplace EnergySage. Vikram gives his views on the ins and outs of distributed solar markets via his company’s recent reports, as well as his thoughts on the market overall.

Finally, we bring you a video interview with Dr. Charlie Gay, the new director of the SunShot Initiative at the U.S. Department of Energy. Dr. Gay gives a broad perspective from 40 years of solar experience, and talks about what he wants to accomplish as the most senior U.S. government official in solar.

Be sure to check back to this site in coming days for more great solar interviews with some of the industry’s top CEOs and innovators, and also to learn about some exciting energy storage technologies in the next interview from pv magazine LIVE.
