Production closures bump poly price
Recent price hikes in the upstream solar supply chain have seen limited success, writes OPIS editorial director Hanwei Wu. But solar manufacturers are pressing ahead, hoping that production cuts will reverse the negative market sentiment.
The price of Chinese mono-grade premium polysilicon for the production of negatively doped, “n-type” solar ingots, as tracked by OPIS rose from CNY 39 ($5.48)/kg on Aug. 13, 2024, to CNY 39.70 a week later.
