China-based Elecnova has presented this week at the SNEC 2026 trade show in Shanghai a new containerized fully integrated, all in-one energy storage System (ESS) is a fully integrated delivering a 500 kW output and 1,044 kWh of total capacity.

The system features a modular design utilizing four parallel-connected clusters. Each individual cluster contains five 52.2 kW battery packs totaling 261 kWh and a 125 kW power conversion system (PCS). Conceived for critical backup power and microgrid applications, the container includes an integrated Static Transfer Switch (STS) that ensures a seamless on/off-grid transition in under 20 milliseconds.

“To ensure strict regulatory compliance and safety, the core hardware is a standardized, fully certified product,” the company’s sales director, Nick Jiang, told pv magazine. “However, our integration strategies are entirely customized case-by-case to fit unique project requirements. We also offer full OEM services. While project-specific builds are managed from our main factory in China, we maintain two units in our European warehouse for immediate dispatch and accelerated project timelines.”

The system is built on high-capacity LFP 314 Ah cells, utilizing a 4P260S system configuration. Operating at a rated DC voltage of 832 V, the battery supports a max charge/discharge rate of 0.5 P and allows for a 100% depth of discharge at optimal temperatures, according to the manufacturer.

Housed in a rugged IP55 container measuring 2,991 mm × 2,438 mm × 2896 mm and weighing 14 tonnes, the unit features a C4 anti-corrosion rating. Thermal management balances liquid cooling and forced air cooling to maintain performance across a -25 C to 55 C operating range, with derating applied above 45 C or at altitudes exceeding 2,000 meters.

The system boasts a cycle life of over 8,000 cycles and utilizes Modbus TCP/IP for industrial communication. Safety is managed via a dual Aerosol and Water Spray fire suppression system while maintaining noise levels at or below 80 dB. The architecture is fully compliant with global benchmarks, including safety/EMC standards such as UN3536, IEC62477-1, IEC62619, IEC63056, and UL9540A and international grid codes like EN50549, G99, VDE4105, NRS097, and C10/11.
