Terris Energy launches monobloc air-to-water heat pump for multi-unit residential buildings

French heat pump manufacturer Terris Energy has expanded its hybrid heat pump portfolio with the introduction of a new 60 kW version of its T-DUO monobloc heat pump system, complementing the existing 90 kW model already available on the market.

“The T-DUO hybrid heat pump is currently marketed in France both directly by Terris Energy,” a spokesperson from the company told pv magazine, noting that the system is primarily intended for collective heating and domestic hot water production, covering both new-build and renovation projects. “Target applications include multi-unit residential buildings as well as schools, public buildings, hotels, campsites, sports halls, offices, retail sites, and other public-access facilities.”

The company said this new product is responding to a very specific market need: a hybrid system that maintains high performance while being better suited to mid-sized buildings where the 90 kW version may be oversized. Rather than introducing a new technology, the company has chosen to extend an existing platform, keeping the same core architecture across the range. Both the 60 kW and 90 kW units combine an air-to-water heat pump using propane (R290) refrigerant with a gas condensing boiler, integrated into a compact monobloc design.

The new 60 kW model operates with a maximum combined heat pump and gas output of 60 kW at -7 C, while gas-only operation reaches up to 39 kW at -10 C. At a standard operating point of 7 C / 35 C, it delivers a nominal heating capacity of 18.4 kW with a coefficient of performance (COP) of up to 4.49. Maximum heat pump capacity at the same condition reaches 25.8 kW. The unit can operate down to -10 C and uses a DC inverter rotary compressor combined with a 750 mm EC fan. Acoustic performance is rated at 58.5 dB(A) at 1 m and 43.3 dB(A) at 10 m, with a total sound power of 74.8 dB(A). Maximum absorbed electrical power for the heat pump section is 9.7 kW.

Terris Energy also positions the new model as a more accessible entry point for projects benefiting from French energy renovation incentives such as CEE schemes. By offering a more precisely sized solution, the company aims to improve project economics while maintaining eligibility for support mechanisms that are often decisive in renovation decisions.

Manufacturing of the T-DUO range takes place at Terris Energy’s 15,000 m² industrial site in Meaux, in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region in the metropolitan area of Paris, France. With an annual capacity exceeding 20,000 units, the facility supports both new-build developments and large-scale retrofit projects, reflecting the company’s focus on industrial scalability alongside technological integration.
