Spanish power electronics manufacturer Power Electronics has begun construction of a 210,000 m2 industrial campus in Houston, Texas, for the production of energy conversion systems.

The company said the complex will comprise two buildings and have an annual production capacity of up to 40 GW once fully operational.

The approximately 21-hectare site will integrate production, logistics, electronics manufacturing, research and development, training facilities, and offices. Power Electronics plans to deploy automated production processes and new inverter manufacturing lines at the facility.

The company said the new plant will support local production of equipment for the US market and other markets across the Americas.

The campus is expected to create more than 400 jobs. Production will include equipment for solar PV, energy storage, data centers, electric mobility, and industrial applications.

The Houston facility will complement Power Electronics’ existing manufacturing complex in Llíria, Valencia, Spain. The company is also expanding that site from 100,000 m2 to 150,000 m2.

Following the two expansions, Power Electronics expects its global annual production capacity to reach 105 GW.

The company said its cumulative installed AC capacity reached 170 GW in 2026. Its product portfolio includes inverters for solar PV and energy storage systems, as well as power conversion solutions for data centers, electric mobility, and industrial applications.
