Skepticism still surrounds the possibility of using storage systems in combination with rooftop PV in the whole MENA region. Chinese solar module and battery maker JinkoSolar, however, is convinced storage projects for residential, commercial, and industrial customers may be already bankable, depending on a series of factors such as location, electricity prices, consumption profile, and size.

The global energy storage market continues to increase apace, despite the tough challenges during the few last years. Global deployments are expected to nearly triple year-on-year and manufacturing capacity will double in the next two years. Factors such as the growing renewable energy sector, supportive government policies and schemes for energy storage systems (ESS), and improving energy storage economics are expected to be the major drivers for the energy storage market in the coming years.

In this pv magazine Webinar, Waleed AlHallaj, Head of business development – MENA at JinkoSolar, and Moneef Barakat, Managing director at Solarabic will present energy storage solutions and some business cases for the MENA regions while discussing how projects may be conceived under local government policies and programs.

pv magazine Webinar content:
