Moncada plans 189 MW South African PV project
Italian renewables company Moncada Group has won the second tender issued by the South African Department of Energy to build a 189 MW, 240 million photovoltaic plant in De Aar, near Cape Town.

Sonora Energy unveils ambitious Mexican PV plans
Sonora Energy Group de Hermosillo (SEGH) is currently working on a 39 MW photovoltaic plant in Mexico. If all goes to plan, it should begin supplying electricity to the Mexican grid by the end of next August. Overall, the group is planning a number of photovoltaic projects in the country.
Croatia ups PV quota
The Croatian government has voted to increase the existing quota for photovoltaic capacity eligible for feed-in tariffs (FITs) from 15 MW to 45 MW in 2013. Overall, it expects to meet its 2020 quota of 45 MW of installed capacity by next year.??
PV inverter ranking: Kaco announces 9.5 GW capacity
Kaco New Energy has responded to the latest photovoltaic inverter rankings published in the November edition of pv magazine. The German company says it significantly increased its production capacity in 2011 and can now produce up to 9.5 GW of inverters annually.
International agreement intended to kick off Desertec

EDF completes first phase of 143 MWp PV project
EDF Renewable Energy has completed the first phase of its 143 MWp photovoltaic project, located in Kern County, California. Situated next to the 140 MW Pacific Wind project, also executed by EDF, the two plants will become one of the largest hybrid projects in the U.S. when complete.
