The acquired portfolio consists of six photovoltaic parks located in the north-east of the Netherlands. Commissioning is planned for the second half of 2022. The seller Chint Solar developed the solar parks with the support of regional development partners as well as provincial and municipal support. CHINT is also taking on the role of lead EPC.

With an annual saving of 90,000 tons of CO2 emissions, the solar parks in the portfolio contribute to achieving the climate targets set in the Netherlands by 2035.

By acquiring the six PV parks, BEE expands its portfolio to 621 MW in the Netherlands and to 1,228 MW worldwide.

Tim Kallas, Chief Investment Officer of Blue Elephant Energy, comments: “We are pleased to add another 120 MW to our growing solar portfolio in the Netherlands with this transaction. The acquisition strengthens our overall portfolio and allows us to be part of the renewable energy expansion path in the Netherlands. With Chint, we have a long-standing partnership and a reliable partner on site.”

Oliver Schweininger, Managing Director/CEO of Chint Solar Europe: “We are very proud that by developing six more solar parks, we significantly contribute to a future of sustainable and clean energy in the Netherlands. Blue Elephant Energy and Chint Solar share that same ambition, so we are very pleased to have sold our portfolio to them again.”
